It can be hard to slow down enough to give our children the kind of space they may need in order to feel heard and seen. How do we move past it?

Children always seem to need something. But sometimes — when we slow down enough to notice — we will find that there isn’t anything they need from us, besides just being near us…

Nothing to show us…

Nothing to tell us…

Nothing to ask…

Nothing to complain about…

All they want is — to just be in our presence.

These times can be the hardest to embrace, because we are often so used to doing something for them or them needing something from us. But truly all that children need at times is just to be around us.

How do we hold space for those moments?

And why can it be so hard?

In today’s episode of The Parenting Presence we explore 5 reasons why we may be faced with a challenge. I hope that this awareness will help you slow down, notice the obstacle, and move past it.
